The world is so advanced now with a lot of breakthrough in science and technology. In today's world you can naturally increase your knowledge or intelligent quotient which was almost impossible in the time past. You can be smarter more than what you are before it is very possible. Here is possible means to increase your intelligent.
1. MAKE SURE YOU GET ENOUGH SLEEP Numerous studies have shown that lack of sleep can impair mental function in the areas of alertness, attention span, concentration, short-term and long-term memory, problem-solving, reaction time, visual and auditory acuity, and so on - i.e. pretty-much every area of mental function! Sleep - and especially the right mixture of deep and REM sleep - is vital for maintaining good mental health. (Note that both physical exercise (see above) and meditation (see below) can promote healthy, regular sleep patterns.)
Nothing makes it harder to concentrate than sleep deprivation. You’ll be most rejuvenated if you go to bed early and don’t sleep more than 8 hours. If you stay up late and compensate by sleeping late, you’ll wake up lethargic and have trouble focusing. In my experience the early morning hours are the most tranquil and productive. Waking up early gives you more productive hours and maximizes your mental acuity all day.
If you have the opportunity, take 10-20 minute naps when you are hit with a wave of drowsiness. Anything longer will make you lethargic, but a short nap will refresh you.
2. EAT A HEALTHY BALANCED DIET RICH IN BRAIN FOODS
Your brain needs certain essential nutrients to perform at an optimum level, particularly with regard to neurotransmitter-precursors, electrolytes (i.e. salts) and fuel (primarily glucose). By eating a healthy, balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, vitamins, amino acids (especially from animal protein, e.g. chicken, dairy products and fish) and carbohydrates, you can maintain healthy brain function without having to buy expensive dietary supplements (some of which work, but many of which don’t).
3.REGULARLY EXPOSE YOUR BRAIN TO NOVEL LEARNING CHALLENGES
Such as learning a new language, musical instrument, area of mathematics, etc.: This will promote mental plasticity and versatility. (And I genuinely believe that learning any area of mathematics, in particular, will probably boost your IQ by a few points; mathematics is an excellent mental workout, and exercises logical, numerical, visual and other forms of abstract reasoning, as well as improving concentration and mental stamina.)
Many people like to read popular suspense fiction, but generally these books aren’t mentally stimulating. If you want to improve your thinking and writing ability you should read books that make you focus. Reading a classic novel can change your view of the world and will make you think in more precise, elegant English. Don’t be afraid to look up a word if you don’t know it, and don’t be afraid of dense passages. Take your time, re-read when necessary, and you’ll soon grow accustomed to the author’s style.
Once you get used to reading challenging books, I think you’ll find that you aren’t tempted to go back to page-turners. The challenge of learning new ideas is far more exciting than any tacky suspense-thriller.
4 . DO A DIFFERENT THING EVERYDAY
Challenge your mind in as many different ways as you can by doing something new every day. Make a new friend, plant a tree or take a different route to your place of work. Try your hand at navigating and map reading which helps to enhance your spatial intelligence.
5. GET CREATIVE
Make sure you tap into your creativity in as many different ways as you can. Get enrolled in a dance class, become an aerobics instructor, paint a picture or a portrait or compose a new song, which you can sing to others. Creativity helps you to tap into the unseen and uncharted areas of your mind and helps them to become more stimulated.
6 . READING
There is nothing as stimulating and exciting for the mind as giving it a good dose of bookish knowledge. Reading for at least 20 minutes every day will enhance your IQ by at least 10-20% . Do not waste time reading trashy books and magazines. Go for bestsellers, news magazines or even newspapers, which greatly enhance your knowledge and thus boost your IQ.
7 . MEDITATION
Meditation is a great way of bridging the gap from your subconscious mind to your conscious mind. Meditation does little to boost the IQ but allows your mind to clear itself of mental clutter, chaos and confusion. This in turn gives you greater power over the information, which you wish to store and process in the brain. People who meditate have claimed to perform better at memory related tasks and also have astounding retentive abilities.
8. CULTIVATE FRIENDSHIPS WITH INTELLIGENT EDUCATED PEOPLE
Make a point of meeting up with them regularly for stimulating conversation on a diverse range of subjects: Through challenging intellectual discussion with intelligent people you will be exposed to novel ideas and fresh perspectives, and will learn the ways in which intelligent people think and express themselves, and these will often rub off on you.
9. CHALLENGE SELF-LIMITING BELIEFS ABOUT YOUR INTELLIGENCE
Many smart people are smarter than they think they are, but they have never realized their true potential because of self-limiting beliefs about their supposed lack of intelligence, often implanted in them by overly demanding parents or overly critical (and often incompetent) school teachers. By a process of systematically questioning the factual basis of these beliefs, and coming to the realization that they are actually groundless, they can let go of them, and finally unleash their true potential. I know a girl who had such self-limiting beliefs, and worked as a humble office secretary, until one day she took the Mensa IQ test, and passed it. She now has a PhD in astrophysics, a rewarding career, and has never been happier. And the moral of that story is simple — dare to believe in yourself!
This is known as the Dunning-Kruger Effect, where people of lower than average intelligence tend to over -estimate their intelligence, whereas people of higher than average intelligence tend to under-estimate their intelligence. Dunning-Kruger effect
10 . REDUCE CHRONIC STRESS
Neuroscientists have discovered that chronic stress and high levels of cortisol can damage the brain. A wide range of recent studies have affirmed the importance of maintaining healthy brain structure and connectivity by reducing chronic stress, which lowers cortisol.
Neuroscientists at the University of California, Berkeley, found that chronic stress triggers long-term changes in brain structure and function which can lead to cognitive decline. Their findings might explain why young people who are exposed to chronic stress early in life are prone to mental problems such as anxiety and mood disorders later in life, as well as learning difficulties.
The "stress hormone" cortisol is believed to create a domino effect that hard-wires pathways between the hippocampus and amygdala in a way that might create a vicious cycle by creating a brain that becomes predisposed to be in a constant state of fight-or-flight.
The researchers found that hardening wires, may be at the heart of the hyper-connected circuits associated with prolonged stress. This results in an excess of myelin—and too much white matter—in some areas of the brain. Ideally, the brain likes to trim the fat of excess wiring through neural pruning in order to maintain efficiency and streamlined communication within the brain.
Chronic stress has the ability to flip a switch in stem cells that turns them into a type of cell that inhibits connections to the prefrontal cortex, which would improve learning and memory, but lays down durable scaffolding linked to anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
BONUS
1. Read More – Intelligence begins with reading. The more you will read, the more you will absorb and therefore the more intelligent you will get.
2. Set Goals – Goals create structure in life and only through proper structure can you increase intelligence.
3. Meditate – When you meditate you calm your brain. This peace and tranquility is crucial in building intellect.
4. Make Notes – The body remembers by doing. So by making notes on everything you do, you will increase memory and intellect.
5. Play Sudoku – Playing Sudoku challenges your brain and helps you think logically. It is a brain game and according to the American Alzheimer’s Association and it might help
reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
6. Stay Hydrated – Our brains depend on proper hydration to function properly. Brain cells require a delicate balance between water and other elements to operate at max efficiency. So try to keep you brain replenished and drink the medically recommended amount of water every day.
7. Minimize “Bad” Television – Watching TV nowadays with all of its reality shows or just simply watching re-runs is one of the worst things you can do for your intelligence. While it can be relaxing you don`t stimulate your thinking. Try tuning into a documentary or the news every now and then.
8. Mentally Simplify – Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge or skill. So try unclutter your thoughts and process information one piece at a time. You will find that you will not just be more productive but your mental capacity will increase.
9. Have a Good Breakfast – You can’t drive a car without fuel. Once you wake up and your tank is empty, eat a hearty breakfast to get yourself going again. Eating a healthy breakfast is directly linked to higher mental performance.
10. Eat Yogurt and other “bacteria”
– Certain bacteria have been scientifically linked to brain power. So it’s possible that by simply eating yogurt you can promote the growth of neurons.
11.Breathe – Oxygen is crucial to the brain and it can’t survive very long deprived of it. You should practice good breathing techniques and give your brain as much as oxygen as it needs. “You don’t need to know all the answers. No one is smart enough to ask you all the questions”. – Unknown
12. Do Crosswords – Crosswords are very effective in making your brain work and exercise.
13. Take Breaks – Your brain is just a muscle and overworking it will only cause problems. Take periodic breaks to keep your brain fresh and productive. And never forget to sleep.
14. Refine Your Thinking – Don’t just think but think about how you are thinking when you think. It’s a quite a handful of words, but it works. If you plan out your thinking process you will think more productively.
15.Don’t take in too much Sugar – Too much sugar gives your brain short term jolt, but after the sugar rush is over the sugar crash is just not worth it.
16. Draw Diagrams and Charts –Try to organize your thoughts using diagrams and charts whenever possible. This reorganization is very helpful in increasing intellect .
17. Work on Vocabulary – If you know more words you will be able to not just acquire more information but will be able to applyit more effectively as well.
18.Eat throughout the Day – Your brain needs fuel to function. Try to avoid being hungry and keep yourself well fed.
19. Focus – Intelligence is largely based on how much you can focus at one time. Practice focusing on tasks and avoid distractions.
20.Don’t Give Up – Anybody can become smarter and improve their intellect so never give up and keep trying.
